When you know support is needed, but not where to begin.
South West WA focused
Mental health support navigation is a focused consultation for adults seeking help for themselves or trying to support someone they care about.
We can clarify what support is being sought, consider what may be available and identify practical next steps.
Who this service may help
A clearer place to begin.
- Adults unsure what kind of mental health support they may need
- Family members, partners or friends trying to support an adult they care about
- People who have already contacted services but remain unclear about the next step
- People overwhelmed by eligibility requirements, costs, waiting periods or different service types
- People looking primarily for mental health or alcohol and other drug services in South West Western Australia
You may already know that something needs to change but feel unsure about which services exist, what kind of support may be appropriate or how different parts of the mental health system fit together.

How it works
One focused consultation.
1. Share the situation
Before we meet, you can provide a brief overview of what is happening, what support is being sought and what has already been tried.
2. Mapping and preparation
I will consider relevant services and pathways, including practical factors such as location, eligibility, costs and waiting periods.
3. Consultation
We will meet for a focused 55-minute consultation to discuss the available options and possible next steps. A brief written summary may be provided where appropriate.
Making the options easier to understand.
What we can look at
-Clarifying what kind of mental health service may be relevant
-Mapping local, statewide and online support options
-Considering alcohol and other drug services where relevant
-Identifying eligibility requirements
-Considering costs and waiting periods
-Identifying questions to ask a service
-Developing a clearer sequence of possible next steps
-Considering intersecting needs where they affect access to mental health support

Not every situation will have an immediate or ideal service available. The purpose of the consultation is to help you understand the realistic options and decide what you may wish to do next.
Local understanding
Knowledge of the South West service landscape.
My work across community services, mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug settings has given me practical knowledge of services and referral pathways across South West Western Australia.
Support navigation is focused primarily on services in the South West. Relevant statewide, Perth-based or online options may also be considered when local support is unavailable or does not meet the person’s needs.
The service is focused on mental health and related alcohol and other drug support. Disability, NDIS, aged-care, housing or physical-health services may be considered where they intersect with the person’s mental health needs, but Midcurrent does not provide specialist navigation in those systems.

What support navigation is not
Clear about the limits of the service.
Midcurrent can help you consider possible pathways, but cannot determine what treatment another person requires or compel them to engage with a service.
Emergency or crisis response
Clinical assessment
Diagnosis
Counselling or psychotherapy
Medication advice
Ongoing case management
Ongoing service coordination
Advocacy or representation
Decision-making on another person’s behalf
A referral or guarantee that another service will accept or respond to a request
If immediate help is needed
Midcurrent does not provide emergency or crisis response. If someone is in immediate danger, requires urgent medical attention or cannot be kept safe, contact emergency or crisis-support services rather than waiting for a support-navigation appointment.
Immediate-support numbers are listed in the footer below.
